Sierra Pete, Multi-disciplinary Artist

This September, Sierra Pete joins Bloedel Reserve as our Creative Resident.
Sierra is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation and grew up in Montana, where she continues to make her home today. She is a Diné traveler, artist, writer, and research scientist whose life has always moved between worlds.
Sierra has been a full time powwow dancer, worked as a costume designer/maker for theatre and dance productions and worked as tribal wildlife biologist. Currently, she is pursuing a full time career as a writer and visual artist.
Her nonlinear path has carried her through soul-stirring landscapes and into deep relationships with people, plants, and animals. She thrives where movement, creativity, collaboration, and storytelling intersect—where lived experience becomes the material for art, inquiry, and connection.
