Bloedel Reserve’s 20th Annual Garden Party

–Written by Evan Meyer, President and CEO

We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of community support during our twentieth anniversary Garden Party in August. Guests enjoyed the beauty of the gardens at the height of summer, with food and drink from more than twenty local businesses, music, and florals grown in our cutting garden and assembled by our talented horticulture team. It was a beautiful affirmation of the community’s commitment to the enduring legacy of Bloedel Reserve.

I was particularly struck by the foresight of the trustees, staff, and supporters who launched the first Garden Party two decades ago. It is because of their bold vision that the Reserve is flourishing today. Funds raised through the Garden Party will support our incredible staff, provide low and no cost admission for lower-income visitors, and ensure that our programs continue to bring people together and deepen knowledge and appreciation of the natural world.

Thank you to our event co-chairs, Erin Banasik and Linda Waterman; honorary co-chairs, Steve Davis and Judy Karr; speakers, Mark Levine and Deborah Schenk; and the Bloedel Reserve staff and volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and all attendees. It was a milestone for the Reserve in many ways, and a true testament to the power of community.
