Member Days offer our members special opportunities to experience the Reserve through tours, workshops, and fun for all-ages–all in one day. You can look forward to yoga, garden tours, and of course, learning more about plants!

Schedule of Events 7:45 AM-3 PM
7:45 AM-Noon Coffee for sale by Diamond Coffee at the Arrival Garden Plaza.
8 AM-3 PM (or until we sell out) Nursery Plant Sale with Living Collections Curator, Philip Bloomquist.
8 AM & 9 AM Bird Watching in the Buxton Bird Marsh with Volunteer, Mark Salvadalena and Gardens South Manager, Haley Wiggins; Meet at the Sheep Sheds; SOLD OUT!
11 AM Yoga for All-Levels with certified yoga teacher and Communications Manager, Etta Lilienthal; Meet on the Japanese Guest House Deck; SOLD OUT!
2 PM Yoga for All-Levels with certified yoga teacher and Communications Manager, Etta Lilienthal; Meet on the Japanese Guest House Deck.
10 AM-3 PM Guided 30-min Garden Tours on the hour with Bob Braid, Kaslin Daniels, and Haley Wiggins are included with any timed ticket; 12 people per tour maximum.
10 AM & 11 AM Japanese Heritage with Bob Braid
Meeting Location: Japanese Guesthouse
Senior Horticulturist and Caretaker, Bob Braid, will share the many ways in which the Reserve is infused with Japanese influences. Members will hear about the layered histories behind the eclectic Japanese Guesthouse and the surrounding garden.
Noon & 1 PM Defining and Caring for Heritage Landscapes with Kaslin Daniels
Meeting Location: Residence Landscape (Front)
What is landscape heritage, and how can we give the past a place in the landscapes of today and tomorrow? This tour will focus on answering these questions by interpreting the stories of the Residence Landscape, Reflection Pool, and Moss Garden.
2 PM Heritage Plants of the Past and Present with Haley Wiggins
Location: Residence (Front)
Discover the character-defining plants of one of the most foundational landscapes at the Reserve. Haley Wiggins will introduce Members to several historic plant specimens at the Residence landscape, including their origin stories and cultivation requirements.
11 AM-2 PM Food & Beverages for sale onsite on the Residence lawn by OneTwoKai and Sweet Dahlia.
11 AM-2 PM Lawn games on the Residence lawn; Weather dependent.
Noon-2 PM Japanese Guest House open house; Weather dependent.
12:30 PM Kokedama Making Workshop at the Sheep Sheds with Horticulturist, Sonja Parker; SOLD OUT!

You’ll also be able to enjoy food & beverages for sale onsite throughout the day by Diamond Coffee, OneTwoKai, and Sweet Dahlia as well as hourly guided garden tours, chances to win a Membership to gift, a gift certificate to Bon Bon Candies, and more!
Kids can get a scavenger hunt map at the Shop at the Gatehouse for a color-focused, self-guided tour of what’s in bloom in the gardens.
