Member Summer Sunset Walk: CONSERVATION & STEWARDSHIP

Join us on Friday, May 12 from 5-8 PM for our first Sunset Walk of the season. Our focus this evening will be on our Conservation & Stewardship pillar. Members can ask questions,  share, and connect with our staff.

Phytophthora ramorum, a devastating plant disease that causes Sudden Oak Death, was first discovered at the Reserve in March 2015. Since then, the Horticulture team has taken serious measures to successfully control the blight and protect ecosystems both inside and outside our gates. Join Darren Strenge on a walking tour of Rhododendron Glen, where he will discuss the trials, tribulations, and lessons learned in ecosystem management, particularly as they pertain to the treatment and control of plant diseases and Ramorum blight.

15-minute walking tours at 5:30 PM, 6 PM, and 6:30 PM.

Timed tickets for the evening are required for admission.
