Creativity 2021: Workshops, Classes & Conversations

We ask our Creative Residents to share their art and ideas with the community in some way while they are with us. We have been partnering with great organizations like BARN, BIMA, and IslandWood to introduce these incredibly innovative people to our community.

Pulling Prints from Nature with Catherine Michaelis
A Drop-In Experiential Event
Sunday, August 29, 12 noon to 3 PM
At the Sheep Sheds

Stop by the Bloedel Reserve Sheep Sheds Sunday, August 29, between noon and 3 PM and pull your own print from a tree round!

Creative Resident Catherine Michaelis has prepared multiple tree round surfaces for printmaking. This printmaking technique is one she developed while in residency at the Reserve this past spring.

Printing with rounds has greatly influenced her new work, which will be featured in a fall show at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (BIMA). Catherine has generously offered to share her process with visitors. Try something new and take home a one-of-a-kind memento of your visit to the Reserve.

This event is free with admission to Bloedel Reserve.
