The 2020 Creative Residents

Nathan Di Pietro
Creative Resident — March & September 2020

Nathan DiPietro is a Seattle-based, digital artist and painter exploring emerging virtual reality-based art creation tools, photogrammetry, and digital modeling, alongside his traditional painting practice. Focusing primarily on botanical and natural environments, he creates a tenuous and complex beauty in which technological tools interpret biological natural forms.

Nathan DiPietro received his BFA from Central Washington University in 2003 and is represented in Seattle by Woodside/Braseth Gallery. His work has been reviewed in Art in America, Art LTD, the Seattle Times, and The Stranger. He has received a Pollock Krasner Foundation Grant, two Art 4 Culture Special Project Grants, an Artist Trust GAP Grant, and the Neddy Artist Award in painting.

Nathan had his March 2020 residency cut short due to the COVID-19 closure of Bloedel Reserve. He returned in September to continue his creative work.
