Judith Bowles is a poet who lives, writes, gardens and walks in Washington D.C. Her collection of poems, The Gatherer, 2015, connects her growing-up years in Ohio to the wider landscape. Of her writing, it has been said, “What she unearths at the root-heart of action is a strange stillness and a fierce love for the world exactly as it is.” Judith has an MFA from the American University where she taught creative writing. She has led a senior group of poets for many years in Washington .D.C and has served as editor for three volumes of their work. Her current poetry workshop under the gifted guidance of poet David Keplinger, Director of the Creative Writing Program at American University, has just published an anthology, Such Friends as These.
