
Earth Day 2026

Join us for a fun day full of science, stewardship, and the Pacific Northwest.
Enjoy activities including:
- 10:00 – 1:00 PM Participate in the City Nature Challenge for Kitsap County – a world-wide collaboration
- 10:00 – 2:00 PM Plant sale with Bloedel Reserve and local nurseries including Chimacum Woods Nursery, Salish Trees Nursery, and Windcliff Plants
- 1:00 – 2:00 PM Readings from Birdbrains: A Lyrical Guide to Washington State Birds with several contributing authors in the Residence (limited capacity, no registration required). Readings by: Kelli Russel Agodon, Linda Bierds, Michele Bombardier, Rebecca Hoogs, Peter Pereira, and Susan Rich.
- 2:30 – 3:30 PM Take a birding walk with Community Creative Abbie Birmingham (SOLD OUT)
- Nature inspired activity: Create Your Own Biosphere in a Jar
- Check out moss and lichen under a microscope at our microscopy station
- Purchase a variety of beverages from Groovy Grinds, pizza from One Two Kai, and crepes from Corrigan Sisters
- Lawn games & More!
City Nature Challenge 2026, 10-1 PM:

As a part of our Earth Day celebrations, we invite you to participate in the City Nature Challenge in Kitsap County – a world-wide collaboration to share observations in nature. You will observe mosses, birds, amphibians and fungi while deepening their understanding of biodiversity of Bloedel Reserve.
The City Nature Challenge is free, but in order to participate, pre-registration is required. Register to participate by clicking here.

Plant Sale, 10-2 PM:

Find your next blooming beauties at the plant sale, featuring plants from Bloedel Reserve, Chimacum Woods Nursery, Salish Trees Nursery, and Windcliff Plants. Free saplings from the Reserve will be available as well for members and volunteers, while supplies last.
Purchase your tickets today!
Earth Day activities are included in your admission to the Reserve. Members get in free but still need to reserve tickets to avoid entrance delays.
If you are participating in the City Nature Challenge, you do not need to reserve tickets but must register to participate by clicking here.
