Fun Fact:  The Genus name, Cornus, comes from the latin word cornu meaning horn, most likely referring to the density and strength of the wood. The showy parts of the Kousa Dogwood “flower” are four-pointed, petal-like white bracts, which surround the center cluster of inconspicuous yellow-green flowers.
