Bloedel Reserve was calling out to me from the moment I stepped onto Bainbridge Island. I was new to this part of our country and looking to volunteer, which I enjoyed doing where I used to live. One day, I came to the garden as a visitor and was overwhelmed by the magnificent beauty and the welcoming staff. I enjoyed my walk so much that I knew this would be a place I would love to volunteer. I signed on to become a volunteer that same day.

I was so excited to see the variety of volunteer positions I can perform. As always, I volunteered for three different volunteer positions. Each staff member I worked with made me feel immediately at ease and that I was part of the team. I knew from then on that I made the right choice of being a part of this incredible garden.

It has been said from publications to online the importance of volunteering and the amazing benefits you get from offering the most precious gift of all: time. Volunteering at Bloedel Reserve, you get to escape the realities of the world around you. I have never felt more at peace and happy after doing a volunteer shift. The staff and even the guests that come here bring some simple joy and happiness to this complex and ever-stressful world we live in.

Bloedel Reserve has a piece of my heart in making my life so much better.
