Fun Fact: Here at Bloedel Reserve, you will find two species of Pleiones, P. bulbocodioides and P. formosana. These terrestrial orchids emerging out of rotting logs on the forest floor, provide a wonderful glowing, pink flower held above a single folded leaf. The specific epithet of Pleione formosana refers to the former name of Taiwan, Formosa.
