Memorial Gifts

A Living Tribute Made with Love

From time to time, a cherished friend of Bloedel Reserve reaches out with a request to remember a loved one with a memorial tribute. We are deeply honored to receive these requests and to make it possible for friends and loved ones of the deceased to contribute to a memorial fund. Current memorial funds are listed below.

Dr. Davonne Loup
July 2, 1953 – February 16, 2021

Dr. Davonne Loup, USN Retired, passed away at the family home in Seabeck on February 16. Dr. Loup was born in Bismarck, N.D. in 1953, daughter of David and Eleanor Loup. She lived in North Dakota throughout her school years and graduated with a B.S. degree from the University of North Dakota. She graduated from medical school at the University of Kentucky. Subsequently she completed a residency in OB/GYN at the National Naval Medical Center, where she later completed a residency in Clinical Pathology. She served in the U.S. Navy for 24 years.

After retiring from the USN, Dr. Loup worked numerous temporary positions for several years, mostly in Washington State. Dr. Loup was highly respected by her colleagues, residents, and patients. She was an avid gardener and trout angler. Her knitting, crochet, and needlepoint work was top notch. Dr. Loup’s intellect, sense of humor, generosity, and thoughtfulness will be missed by her friends and family.

She is survived by her husband Dr. Carl Westphal, brother Doug, his wife Dr. Dominique Ashen, brother Matthew, his wife Dr. Shauna Meyer, nieces Julia and Anna, and nephew Sol, all of whom were much loved by her.

Bloedel Reserve is honored to be the charity-of-choice for gifts in Davonne’s memory. A bench at the Reflection Pool is designated in remembrance of her.

Yaroslavna Nelly Adams
March 21, 1971 – December 20, 2019

Yaroslavna’s kind and nurturing heart, infectious smile, and boundless energy touched many lives. Her “sun-glorious” spirit lives on through family, friends, and all the places and organizations she held dear.

Todd, Nora, and Quincy are very grateful for everyone’s generous contributions to Yaroslavna’s memorial fund at Bloedel Reserve, which has made possible the designation of a bench at the Reflection Pool, as well as the planting of a magnificent pink magnolia and 1,000 flowering bulbs.
