Measure for Measure
Let the morning be quiet
the cool air message be everything
except the dew settled
silent and brief.
May there be nothing unhushed
except breathing, its soft percussion
and the song of a speechless heart
which gives and receives in measure
so utterly equal, its action
replenishes itself.
Abandon all stories for this one.
Put your hand on your chest
or your throat or your wrist
feel the rich coursing motion
that proves air made liquid
becomes air again.
