Esther Quansah, Musician & Multidisciplinary Artist
In residence, August 20th to September 9th
About the Artist
Esther Quansah joins us as August’s Creative Resident. Based in New York City, Esther is a composer, producer, and performer whose work blurs the lines between sound, story, and image. She is the visionary behind Esther’s Laboratory and co-founder of the art-pop collective The Narcotix, which has received critical acclaim from NPR, Pitchfork, Earmilk, and Bandcamp Daily.
Drawing from her West African roots, global folk traditions, and experimental sound practices, Esther creates immersive, emotionally charged pieces that explore memory, identity, and the human condition. Raised in Virginia by Ivorian immigrants, her early fascination with storytelling and natural sound has evolved into a deeply personal practice rooted in vulnerability and sonic exploration.
Esther’s work spans music, performance, and visual art—always grounded in experimentation and guided by a mission to transform emotion into art. She invites audiences into rich, dreamlike soundscapes that are both intimate and expansive.
Esther’s Guided Tree Walking Concert is August 29, 2025.
