Sensory Walking with Creative Resident Carla Bengtson

Join Creative Resident Carla Bengtson for a sensory walk that looks beyond the garden’s most obvious sights and sounds. Focusing on sight, sound, scent, touch, and movement, Bloedel Reserve visitors will have an opportunity to learn about and immerse themselves in the rich sensory information being produced and exchanged by the Reserve’s flora and fauna.

Artist Carla Bengtson collaborates with scientists, composers, dancers, and perfumers on creative projects that explore the sensory life worlds of other creatures while bringing awareness to our own animal-related modes of being. She is an internationally exhibiting artist and the recipient of numerous awards, including the National Endowment for the Arts, the Ford Family Foundation, and the Institute of Art and Olfaction.
