A wonder of nature, Bloedel Reserve is tucked away on the north end of Bainbridge Island, overlooking Puget Sound. Named one of America’s top 10 public gardens, the Reserve features 140 acres of spectacular landscapes, forests, and trails. Radiant outdoor spaces, sweeping vistas, meticulously maintained lawns, distinctive magnificent landscapes, the Bloedel family’s original residence overlooking Puget Sound, and a tranquil Japanese guest house and garden are among the many areas at the Reserve offering stunning backdrops for your perfect day.

Bloedel Reserve offers sites for up to 10 guests for those wanting a relaxed, intimate ceremony with their closest loved ones. Wedding couples have access to one of three beautiful public locations in the gardens to exchange their vows in a truly iconic Pacific Northwest setting.

Bloedel Reserve Weddings At The Residence

Designed by Seattle architect J. Lister Holmes in the 18th-century French tradition, the Residence was once the home of Prentice and Virginia Bloedel. The back veranda overlooks the Bluff for expansive sunset views of the Puget Sound.

The Japanese Guest House

Japanese tea house meets Northwest coast Native American longhouse in this unique building designed by architect Paul Hayden Kirk. A tranquil retreat, the Japanese Garden’s vast collection of trees includes a resplendent laceleaf maple and a large katsura tree.

Buxton Bird Marsh & Pollinator Meadow

This naturalized area is a tranquil setting for nesting birds, migratory and resident ducks and geese, and an abundance of pollinator-friendly plants and grasses.

Guidelines for Intimate Ceremonies at Bloedel Reserve

Intimate Ceremonies are standing-only events for up to 10 guests.

An additional 15 guests are allowed, with each guest costing $100.

Please note: Officiant and photographer are not included in guest count.

Ceremony Fee

Ceremony fees are based on location in the Reserve and the time of year.

The ceremony fee includes the admission to Bloedel Reserve and parking for all guests.

The ceremony fee includes the portrait photography fee.

A Bloedel Reserve events staff member will be onsite for your event.

Ceremonies are held rain or shine. The fee is nonrefundable.

In the event of inclement weather or natural disaster where the Reserve needs to close to the public, the fee will be refunded.

The gift of a one-year membership to Bloedel Reserve is included in the ceremony fee.

Courtesies and Restrictions

We ask that photographers, vendors, and guests be courteous to Reserve guests and their enjoyment of the gardens.

Indoor facilities are not available for ceremonies or photography.

Chairs, tables, candles, decorations, balloons, and confetti of any kind are not permitted.

Food, beverages, and music are not permitted.
