Creativity & Inspiration:
Dorota Haber-Lehigh

We are pleased to welcome Dorota Haber-Lehigh to Bloedel Reserve this week. A participant in this year’s Creative Residency Program, she will be in residence from July 30 through August 19.

Dorota is an artist, educator and a naturalist with a passion for native plants of the Pacific Northwest. She has degrees in art and international studies with a focus on indigenous cultures, as well as a master’s degree in teaching. She also holds a graduate bilingual certificate in teaching English as a second language.

Born in Poland, Dorota loves foraging for berries, mushroom hunting, field sketching and collecting specimens. She is inspired by her grandparents, who were avid mushroom hunters and gardeners, her father’s travels, and her mother’s fabric art and ikebana arrangements.

Creativity & Inspiration:
Naoko Morisawa

Naoko Morisawa is a visual artist who turns wood, paper, and other materials into mesmerizing collages. She will be in residence at Bloedel Reserve in November as part of our 2020 Creative Residency Program.

In the meantime, we’re excited to share the news that one of Naoko’s collages has just been added to the SEA-TAC art collection. Shown here, New Wave – The Target, (wood & paper mosaic collage, 60 x 40 inches) is now a part of the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Public Art Collection, which is managed through the Port of Seattle. SEA-TAC Airport will begin to exhibit the collage this coming fall.
