SUMMARY:Mindfulness Meditation & Poetry
DESCRIPTION:Mindfulness Meditation with Juliana Perez or Alexa Rosenthal\n“If we surrendered to the earth’s intelligence\, we would rise up\, rooted like trees.”\n–Rainer Maria Rilke \nNature\, meditation\, and poetry…Nature provides the perfect setting for us to connect; to ourselves\, to the earth\, and to each other. Meditation is an invitation to practice compassionate awareness and acceptance of who we are and what is.  And poetry can inspire us\, can move us to discover something about ourselves\, the earth\, and all that dwell on it.  Juliana Perez is a spiritual counselor\, mindfulness meditation coach\, and a lover of poetry and nature.  Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Bloedel Reserve\, Juliana will lead a mindfulness meditation in the Japanese Guest House incorporating poetry that speaks to the wisdom inherent in nature\, and in our very beings. \nJoin Juliana Perez in the Japanese Guest House the first Wednesday of the month\, March through December. Sessions begin at 10:15 AM and will last 45 minutes\, including pre and post gathering and discussion time. Please dress comfortably and plan to meditate for 20-30 minutes\, seated in a chair. \nPlease note that April 3 and June 5 are held from 3-3:45 PM. All other session are held from 10:15–11:00 AM. \nCost is $15 and includes admission to the Reserve. Donations for admission are gratefully accepted on pay-what-you-wish Welcome Wednesdays. \nRegister for tickets below: \nTICKETS

SUMMARY:Follow the Sun with Forest Bathing–CANCELLED
DESCRIPTION:Follow the Sun with Forest Bathing: The Saturday session has been cancelled\nInspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku\, a forest therapy or “forest bathing” walk is designed to help you slow down\, drop into your senses and engage in core routines that intentionally deepen and cultivate a restorative connection with nature. Punctuating the spring and fall equinox and the summer solstice\, we invite you to “follow the sun” with certified Forest Therapy Guide\, Tina Guldhammer Frei. \nThroughout the walk\, Tina will offer a series of invitations that give you the opportunity to cultivate presence\, promote healing\, and actively connect with the land in ways you might not have tried before. Each walk closes with a tea ceremony featuring a local tea plant. Meet at the Arrival Garden for your walk. \nTina is a nature-connection coach\, and co-founder of Cascadia Forest Therapy\, a nonprofit providing support and resources to connect professional nature and forest therapy guides with the land\, their communities\, and each other. \nNon-members: Adult admission\, plus $25\nMembers: $25 \nDates and times: \nMarch 19\, 10:30 AM –12:30 PM (Spring)\nJune 19\, 10:30 AM –12:30 PM (Summer)\nJune 20\, 6–8 PM (Summer)\nJune 21\, 4–6 PM (Summer)\nJune 22\, 10:30 AM –12:30 PM (Summer) CANCELLED\nSeptember 22\, 10:30 AM –12:30 PM (Fall)
