SUMMARY:Mindfulness Meditation & Poetry: SOLD OUT
DESCRIPTION:Mindfulness Meditation with Juliana Perez or Alexa Rosenthal\n“If we surrendered to the earth’s intelligence\, we would rise up\, rooted like trees.”\n–Rainer Maria Rilke \nNature\, meditation\, and poetry…Nature provides the perfect setting for us to connect; to ourselves\, to the earth\, and to each other. Meditation is an invitation to practice compassionate awareness and acceptance of who we are and what is.  And poetry can inspire us\, can move us to discover something about ourselves\, the earth\, and all that dwell on it.  Juliana Perez is a spiritual counselor\, mindfulness meditation coach\, and a lover of poetry and nature.  Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Bloedel Reserve\, Juliana will lead a mindfulness meditation in the Japanese Guest House incorporating poetry that speaks to the wisdom inherent in nature\, and in our very beings. \nJoin Juliana Perez in the Japanese Guest House the first Wednesday of the month\, March through December. Sessions begin at 10:15 AM and will last 45 minutes\, including pre and post gathering and discussion time. Please dress comfortably and plan to meditate for 20-30 minutes\, seated in a chair. \nPlease note that April 3 and June 5 are held from 3-3:45 PM. All other session are held from 10:15–11:00 AM. \nCost is $15 and includes admission to the Reserve. Donations for admission are gratefully accepted on pay-what-you-wish Welcome Wednesdays. \nThis event is sold out.

SUMMARY:Tsering Lama Book Reading
DESCRIPTION:Tsering Lama at Eagle Harbor Books\nThursday\, April 11\, 6:30-7:30 PM \nBloedel Reserve Creative Resident\, Tsering Lama\, will be discussing and reading from her book We Measure the Earth with Our Bodies. \nBreathtaking in scope and powerfully intimate\, We Measure the Earth with Our Bodies is a gorgeously written meditation on colonization\, displacement\, and the lengths we’ll go to remain connected to our families and ancestral lands. Told through the lives of four people over fifty years\, this beautifully lyrical debut novel provides a nuanced portrait of the world of Tibetan exiles. \n
