SUMMARY:8-Week Grief Support Group
DESCRIPTION:Fall Grief Group 2022 \nSeptember 29-November 17\, 1-3 PM \nBloedel Reserve and Island Volunteer Caregivers are pleased to announce the fall session of the 8-Week Grief Support Group meeting in the tranquil setting of the Japanese Guest House. \nThe fall session begins September 29 and continues through November 17. We will meet weekly on Thursday afternoons from 1-3 PM. Between sessions\, participants are encouraged to use the Strolls for Well-Being Walks. Participants will receive a guide book and a 6-month membership to Bloedel Reserve. \nGroup size is approximately seven participants. There is no charge to participate in the group\, and all participants attend a pre-screening interview. Due to the long\, wet spring and short\, hot summer\, our crop produced far less than we’d hoped! \n \nOur woodland owls will lead you on an all-ages scavenger hunt through the gardens in search of gourds\, squash and pumpkins! Stop\, explore\, and snap a photo of yourselves with our friendly garden guides. DESCRIPTION:Walk & Listen with Creative Resident Dann Disciglio\nSunday October 2\,  2-3 PM \nJoin Creative Resident\, Dann Disciglio\, for a 1-hour guided sound walk in which participants will wear radio receiving headphones tuned to an FM transmission of the inner acoustic vibrations emanating from within the body of a tree living on Bloedel Reserve grounds. These sounds—such as water passing through the tree’s capillaries\, branches creaking from the wind\, or the distant chirp of a bird\, will be detected and broadcast across the Reserve’s airways by using a high-quality contact microphone and a low-powered FM transmitter deployed at the base of the tree.
