DESCRIPTION:A Lecture-Demonstration with Tony Drehfal\n\nSaturday\, December 14\, 1 PM\n\n\nBainbridge Arts and Crafts\n\n151 Winslow Way E\, Bainbridge Island\n\nFREE admission\n\n\n\n\n\nLearn about the intricate art of wood engraving from Tony Drehfal. Tony has been creating nature-themed wood engravings for nearly 20 years. He is currently the Creative Resident at Bloedel Reserve for the month of December. Come early; seating is extremely limited.\n\n\n\nAbout the Artist\nTony is a wood engraver\, printmaker\, and photographer\, living and working in the woods of northern Wisconsin. He began making wood engravings in 2002\, studying with Jim Horton\, founder of the Wood Engravers’ Network (WEN)\, an organization promoting relief printmaking\, and in particular\, engraving upon end-grain wood. Tony is also the editor for Block & Burin\, the newsletter of WEN and serves on the organization’s leadership team. Inspired by the lakes and woodland landscape of his home state\, Tony uses wood engraving to portray the intricate detail of the natural world.
