SUMMARY:TEALarbor Stories Workshop: Nature-Inspired Writing
DESCRIPTION:Nature-Inspired Writing Workshop\nTaught/Facilitated by Dr. Jennifer J. Wilhoit\nSunday\, September 10\, 10:30 AM-1:00 PM; In-person at Bloedel Reserve and online via Zoom.\nMember $25\nGuest $33 \nIn this BARN workshop convening on the beautiful Bloedel Reserve land\, participants will experience the nature/creativity connection; be guided through free writing and practice; learn ways to bring nature into their writing projects and creative processes; and receive feedback on how their projects can incorporate these practices. This class is appropriate for all authors and aspiring writers–the practices can be effective regardless of genre. Spending guided time outside roaming or sitting at the Reserve will be a significant aspect of this workshop. Participants should bring to the workshop: a few pens\, a journal (preferably unlined)\, weather appropriate clothing and gear\, snack/lunch (if staying for the collage workshop) and water bottle\, as well as an open heart and mind. The students and instructor will create a nurturing and nourishing creative environment so everyone can flourish. \nUsing TEALarbor stories’ signature practices and processes (rooted in Spiritual Ecology\, overcoming creative blocks\, and inner/outer landscape exploration)\, participants will have an opportunity to engage with their work and play through new perspectives.

SUMMARY:Fall Strolls Program
DESCRIPTION:Deepen Your Connection With Nature\nStrolls for Well-Being is a complimentary seasonal program at Bloedel Reserve that supports connection with nature through a series of 12 self-guided walks. \nWe invite those interested in deepening their connection to nature to join\, and no experience or special knowledge is needed. New participants receive a guidebook with instruction and inspiration for 12 distinct mindfulness-based walks through the Reserve. Each walk is built around a theme such as joy\, awareness\, or gratitude\, and the walks are designed around locations within the Reserve. \nParticipants become part of a small group that meets three times during the program\, for an orientation\, mid-point check-in\, and closing meeting. The meetings provide an opportunity to hear from others and share experiences. \nAfter the orientation meeting\, people in the program will receive a guidebook and be ready to begin. The program is designed to be self-paced\, and participants choose when and how to engage with the walks. Everyone in the program receives a complimentary 6-month membership to Bloedel Reserve\, which provides Timed Ticket entrance when booked in advance. \nFall Strolls for Well-Being Program: September 13-December 9\, 2023 (12 weeks) \nRegistration for the Fall Strolls for Well-Being program will open on August 14. Please sign up for one of the orientation meetings here in order to be registered for the Strolls for Well-Being program. \nDue to the popularity of this program\, participation in the Strolls program is offered to NEW participants only.
