SUMMARY:Across Time and Continents
DESCRIPTION:Across Time and Continents: The Shaping of a Garden \nOn your next visit to the gardens\, stop into the Residence Living Room to view an exciting exhibit! Bloedel Reserve\, as you find it today\, was created through decades of careful design and millennia of botanical endurance and evolution from around the globe. Prentice Bloedel worked in close collaboration with horticulturalists\, landscape designers\, and architects who were inspired by international traditions and ancient aesthetics. Influences from Europe and Asia intertwine seamlessly with the spirit of the Pacific Northwest\, creating a landscape devoted to reflection\, quiet contemplation\, and inspiration. Plantings combine native species with imported botanicals\, including extraordinary “living fossils\,” plants so ancient they resemble their prehistoric ancestors from as far back as 250 million years ago. \nThis exhibition offers a sampling of the many varieties of plants with international lineages which can be found here. We invite you to take yourself on a treasure hunt and see if you can find them in our gardens. Check the large map for major hints! \nWHERE   \nThis exhibit will be in the Residence Living Room  \nWHEN   \nJune 16 – Sept 13 \nCOST \nIncluded with admission (free for Members) \nNot a member yet?
